alamo square

APRIL 3RD, 2013

continuing on with our exploration of san francisco, we decided that we would go see the five painted ladies in alamo square. if you don't know the five painted ladies, they're the colorful houses that were seen in the full house opening credits.

^ before stopping at alamo square, we went to the inner richmond district to eat at cafe bunn mi. their vietnamese subways were delish. i had the combination pork and jason had the five spice chicken. ^

^ after lunch, we stopped by a nearby book store called green apple books that sells used books. i snagged up 'george and martha' and ' the three billy goats gruff' for $2.50 each. i have a deep desire to build a library for my future babes. ^

^ i almost stepped in eggs! ^

^ the five painted ladies, check out our vine video here ^

^ after alamo square, we stopped at chile pies. i had a scoop of lemon cookies ice cream, which was heavenly! ^

^ jason ordered the green chile chicken pot pie, which was so savory. ^

we had a lovely day exploring.
have you gone on any exploration lately?

easter

APRIL 3RD, 2013

this easter was one of my favorite easters to date. we may have been far from all our dear family and friends but we felt so loved by the friends we have met out west. we met my friend's new baby boy at church and were invited by my dear friend, A, to her family's easter dinner.

i wish i had taken more pictures of all the festivities but i guess when you're having a good time, you really enjoy it and forget everything else. here are some pictures i did take if you'd like to see...

^ i made some carrot cupcakes to bring to dinner ^

^ jason and i dressed up for church ^

peachy beachy

APRIL 3RD, 2013

jason and i haven't been to the beach without the surfboards lately so we decided to make a date out of it - walk along the boardwalk, eat ice cream and clam chowder (not together of course) and try to catch the sunset, which failed as it was a cloudy day in santa cruz.

^ we hate to admit this but with lunch at the dolphin, we've officially ate one meal at each of the restaurant on the pier. ^

^ i look like i'm laughing but i'm really crying for help out of fear that the bird on the table behind me while come eat me alive ^

^ we drove up the coast and caught some amazing waves! ^

finding dory!

APRIL 3RD, 2013

did you hear? a finding nemo sequel is in production! doesn't that make you jump with glee? i was a big fan when the movie first came out ten years ago (what? ten? i'm getting up there!) and am just so excited about seeing more of dory!

following the fish theme, i wanted to share with you some cool pictures jason and i took underwater at our pool. we're spoiled rotten to have three pools in our complex so we take full advantage of it by swimming in it 2-3/week (even in the winter). jason usually does laps in the pool while i frolic from end to end pretending to be a whale. it's a sweet time together.
